Environmental Management

Our environmental targets are all encapsulated in our environmental management system (EMS) which has been compliant with standards for many years.  We became BS 8555 compliant in 2003 and ISO 14001 registered in 2007.  Our EMS is certified by BSi and contains these main elements:

1. An Environmental Policy

The Environmental Policy sets the agenda for our management system and complements our Green Angels 10 Commitments.

2. A study of our environmental impacts

Called an Aspects Register, this study is updated very frequently to take into account our continually reducing impacts, as well as changes in legislation.

3. A set of targets

Our targets are business wide, involving carbon reduction and reducing waste to landfill.

4. An action plan to reach those targets

This is an overview of the carbon and waste reduction programmes.

5. A set of mechanisms to mean we keep going

We have also put in place processes, procedures and documentation to make sure that any possible environmental problems are minimised.

6. A process to make sure we are doing these things

We share the audit process that we use for our ISO9001 registered Quality Management System to make sure we are doing what we say we are doing.  We also have regular visits from BSi to ensure we remain compliant.
