Being a Green Angel is more than simply reducing environmental impacts or raising money for charity. It’s about being actively involved 7 days a week to improve the world we live in. Following our friends' philosophy at We Are What We Do, Green Angel activities don’t need to be big – it’s the simple actions that make the difference.

carbon reduction
Our award winning Carbon Reduction Programme has a target to reduce our carbon emissions by 75% by 2010 against 2006 baseline. We have already reduced by 57% in 2008 and are on schedule to reach our target. |
 |
carbon neutral
In 2006, we were proud to be the first company in our sector to be CarbonNeutral. Whilst embarking on our ambitious carbon reduction programme, we have offset our remaining emmisions with the CarbonNeutral company investing in gold standard projects. |

green fleet
We have a commitment to deliver our goods and services in the most responsible way. Our green fleet has been highly acclaimed by the Energy Saving Trust and GreenFleet. Not only has our award winning Dynamic Routing System saved over 150,000 miles from our van routes, we have actually taken three vans completely off the road whilst increasing our service levels and customer deliveries |
 |
biodiesel tank
Since 2008 we have used biodiesel for our entire van fleet which has helped us reduce our carbon emissions by over 50%. To further this, in 2009 we were the first company to install a real-time blending system from locally sourced sustainable biodiesel at our Cheltenham site. This has enabled all our staff with diesel cars to reduce their vehicle emissions by up to 80%. |
 |
waste reduction programme
Our Green Apple Award winning waste reduction programme has reduced our waste to landfill by over 90% by focusing on reduction and reuse. We are currently reusing over 90% of cardboard and plastic waste and helping customers to reduce their waste too. |

our annual CSR Day
Our annual CSR Day has become a recognised opportunity for companies to share ideas and find solutions to their environmental concerns. Involving leading authorities such as Jonathan Porritt, Eugenie Harvey, Mark Maslin and Mike Barry, the event opens people’s minds to the positive impacts we can all have on climate change.

zero waste to landfill
Imagine an office with no waste bins? Our aim is to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill by 2012. This summer. We commissioned a feasibility study from one of our talented interns Laura Jacques. We have started to implement her findings and we look forward to achieving our goal. |

We now use 100% renewable electricity to power our energy efficient data centre, as well as rolling out a light replacement programme that has reduced energy usage by over 73%. We have reduced emissions from gas and oil to under 15 tonnes and overall building emissions by 18%. |

We are working on our first annual report. This will be produced and available on line by the end of our financial year in March 2011. |
 |
charity charter
We have a number of chosen charities that we support throughout the year - these include Acorns, NSPCC, NCT and Shaw Trust. From raising money through giving away part of our profits and collecting household items, to space-hopping to work and our MD dressing as Cruella DeVille! - everyone gets involved and has some fun. |

work placements & apprenticeships
We feel we have a responsibility to help youngsters gain confidence in the ‘corporate world’. Last year we welcomed 9 students who were able to gain experience in various departments across our company. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them and hope they got as much from the experience as we did. This year for the first time, we are taking on two apprentices from our local college and we are very excited at the ongoing potential of this scheme. |
